CME Standards and Policies

Founded in January 2007, Center for Independent Healthcare Education (Center) holds "Accreditation with Commendation" from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and is accredited to provide continuing education for physicians. Center is also accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to provide continuing education for pharmacists (currently accredited through June 2019).

Center for Independent Healthcare Education complies with the letter and spirit of the Standards for Commercial Support and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the guidelines of the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award (AMA/PRA), which ensures learners that our educational activities are completely independent of commercial influence.

Conflict of Interest Policy

Center for Independent Healthcare Education (Center) is committed to its obligation to ensure the independence of CME/CE from commercial influences.

Center requires faculty, planners, and others who are in a position to control the content of continuing education activities to disclose in advance to the learners any real or apparent conflict of interest related to the activity. All identified conflicts of interest are resolved to ensure fair balance, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all activities. Center resolves all potential conflicts of interest by content validation processes, by disclosing the levels of evidence, and, by prohibiting a prospective contributor's participation if a relevant financial relationship with a commercial supporter cannot be reconciled.
